Satuan Hitungan Byte

Dalam hitungan kapasitas memory satuan hitungnya adalah menggunakan byte. Tentu kita harus tau satuan bit, Kbit, Mbit, byte KByte, MByte, GByte dsb.
Berikut hitungan kapasitas memory dalam komputer :

1 nybble = 4 bit = 2² bit

1 byte = 8 bit = 2³ bit
1 KByte = 1024 byte = 2¹⁰ byte = 2¹³ bit

1 MByte = 1024 KByte = 2¹⁰ KByte = 2²⁰ byte  = 2²³ bit

1GByte = 1024 MByte = 2¹⁰ MByte = 2³⁰ byte = 2³³ bit

contoh dalam soal :

16GB = ...... byte.

16GB = 2⁴ x 2¹⁰ MByte

     = 2⁴ x  2¹⁰ x 2¹⁰ KByte
            =  2⁴ x  2¹⁰ x 2¹⁰ x 2¹⁰ byte
            =  2³⁴ byte
